Ankamma Devara Temple, Ipurupalem, Chirala, Prakasam Dt. AP

This is the temple of our family Godess (ANDE VARI VAMSAVALI)  and only 200 feet from my home where I am born (7-3-1955) and brought up.  In my childhood Ankamma devara was housed in a thached hut and oil lamps used to be the only source of light during nights.

The present day concrete structure of the temple was built for the efforts of my aged father in the Nineties. By that time my father was operated for the Knee joint and he had a metal ball joint replacement leftside. He has to go to number of people in and around chirala and that too to the ANDE Vamsavali families only and collected donations and rebuilt the temple. Every single rupee he collected has been in the SILA SASANA inside the temple room just facing to the door as you enter.  I did not realize at that time, how much pains my father was taking and the devotion with which he was pursuing the cause was astonishing.and unbelievable.  As I am recollecting for the writing of this my eyes are filled with tears.  Such is the devotion of my father and my mother to the amiloy diety Ankamma devara.
For every occassion small or big say going to the school after exams, are going to write the exams., going from school to college for higher studies say to degree college in Chirala, or may be Andhra University, Waltair for MSc or IIT Bombay for PhD or going abroad for Post doctoral fellowship for every single event in my life my father and mother prayed and offered coconut Prasad to the Kuladevatha Ankamma devara all the times.  It is strongly believed by all of us that the Kula devatha (Ankamma thalli) blessings are the first and foremost important for success in each of our endeaviours.
